Tommy Taylor in the mix with England

Red Panda would like to congratulate Tommy Taylor after it was announced that the Sale Sharks hooker has been retained in England’s 26 men squad for the Gram Slam decider against France on Saturday.

Taylor, who is seen above modelling our Red Panda shirts with Sale team-mates Mike Haley, Will Addison and Josh Beaumount, will replace Saracens No 2 Jamie George in Eddie Jones’ latest squad and has been rewarded for his excellent season thus far at the AJ Bell Stadium.

The 24 year-old, who began his rugby career at Macclesfield before making his debut with Sale in 2011, has made over 90 appearances for the Sharks and earlier this year, he announced he will be joining Wasps for 16/17 campaign.

It comes as no surprise that the uncapped Taylor has now been called up for his national side after two very solid seasons with Sale and a move to Wasps is just reward for his consistently good form.

His decision to move to the Ricoh Arena may have seen Taylor lose focus on his immediate goal with Sale, but that hasn’t been the case as he continues to churn out good performances in order to help his current club finish as high as they can in this year’s Aviva Premiership.

It isn’t the first time that Taylor has been involved with an England squad though. He was named in the sides that faced the Barbarians in 2014 and 2015 which again highlights what a ground breaking few years Taylor has had.

We at Red Panda wish Tommy all the best this week with England and also hope he has a strong end to the season with Sale ahead of his move to Wasps in the summer.
